Just Reading Books

Last week Jordan refused to take a nap. She would stay in bed for 3-4 hours playing and trying to keep herself awake. Finally just when I was beginning to give in and think she was too old for naps I tried a brilliant idea my mom used with us. I told her she doesn't have to take naps anymore, but she has to read books on her bed. She loves books by the way. So it worked, she has taken naps every day this week except one. She comes downstairs 2-3 hours later and I ask her if she had fun reading books and she smile and says yep. A couple times she has said she read books and slept, but usually she says she just read books. Imagine that, when she isn't trying to fight falling asleep, she falls asleep!

Antennas!

Saturday I decided to see if I could make any pigtails on Jayci's head. I got enough to make two tiny antennas! Jordan loved Jayci having her hair done, but Jayci hated it, hence the crooked pigtails. She would not sit still for me. Jordan loves to match Jayci. Every morning one of the first things she asks is if she can match Jayci. She is a wonderful big sister and they play great together. Jayci is starting to walk. She took her first steps two weeks ago, but she is still just taking a couple steps, she is a bit of a chicken!

Just Laying Back

The other day Jayci was just laying on the floor with one arm behind her head "just laying back". Jon and I thought it was adorable so Jon took this picture of her. Jayci is growing fast. She took her first steps last Friday. Just a couple here and there, but we are still proud! Jordan loves to play with Jayci now. When Jayci first started crawling Jordan was really bothered at her sister climbing up on her and stealing her toys, but now they play great together.

Time With Cousins

We went to Janine's sister Jan's house for a week. Most of her family was there sometime during the week. The cousins had so much fun playing together.

While we were there there was a kids track meet in Eugene for kids, so we took all the cousins. Jordan did the long jump, the softball throw, and the 60 m run. All of the little kids got ribbons for participating in each event. Jordan calls them her "tickets" and plays with them constantly.Jordan jumping with her grandpa and Janine watching.

There were other kids, she is ahead of them at this point, but then she looked back for them and slowed down so she could run beside them. She isn't quite competitive yet!

This was at the same track meet last year. Look how much she has grown! Our little baby girl is all grown up. And here Janine was pregnant with Jayci. Things have changed for us in a year.


We had fun on the 4th. Jayci ate so much food at out BBQ, I think that was her favorite part of the day. Jordan loved the fireworks, especially the sparklers.


Jon worked while we were there. The men cleared the lot where they are getting ready to build another house. The cut down trees and tore down a trailer and sheds.
We had a lot of fun at Aunt Jan's and Uncle Lester's. Thanks for putting us up guys!

Time Together

It was great to spend most of the first week of Jon's break at home just spending time together as a family. One day we went swimming and the girls had a blast. Here they are all ready to go.
